HYDERABAD:

Former federal minister and district Nazim Mir Inayat Talpur passed away at the age of 62 at a hospital in Singapore, where he was under medical treatment.

Commercial activity in the Hyderabad district was suspended on Tuesday as people mourned Talpur’s death.

His dead body will be taken to Tando Muhammad Khan, where he will be buried in his ancestral graveyard.

The late Mir Inayat entered politics in 1978 and was elected MNA in 1985, followed by his inclusion in the federal cabinet in 1987.

He was elected as the district Nazim in 2005, and in the 2013 general election, he contested from the PS-53 constituency but lost the seat despite bagging over 30,000 votes.

His father, the late Mir Aijaz Ali Khan Talpur, was also a federal minister and his grandfather, Mir Ghulam Ali Khan Talpur, was a member of the Sindh Assembly.

"His father, the late Mir Aijaz Ali Khan Talpur, was also..."

He (Mir Aijaz Ali Khan Talpur) is still alive; you may want to fact check and correct it. His grand father Mir Ghulam Ali Khan Talpur was one of the founding fathers of Pakistan along with Mir Babdeh Ali Khan Talpur; both close friends of Mr Jinnah.
