Irrigation Secretary of Punjab, Mian Yawar Zaman, and Jhang's chief engineer briefed CM Shahbaz Sharif on the current situation and threat level to the city.
With the possibility of 0.8million cusecs of water entering Jhang, CM Shahbaz Sharif urged locals to vacate their homes and go elsewhere.
“I request the people of this area to please leave and vacate their homes. This is not a small flood, it is the biggest flood in our history,” said Sharif.
Many residents, however, were reluctant to leave, fearing their belongings would be stolen.
Sharif said it was his responsibility to get everyone out and if locals failed to comply with instructions, they would be forced out.
“We will first plead and request everyone to get out. If people do not listen, they will be forced out,” Sharif said.
Further, Sharif requested the media to guide flood victims, before heading towards Chiniot.

Time and again I am seeing both brothers PM Nawaz and CM Shahbaz visiting flooded areas but for what other than cheap popularity, self projection and photo sessions. 1stly they being the rulers should have taken remedial steps months ago because each year floods hit Pakistan during peak summer months so the rulers must take cognizance of the situation to minimize the damage but I doubt any such actions are taken. We do not need words but actions. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi

Leading from the front. Unlike the two airconditioned container dwellers.
What a pathetic actor the little Sharif is! Look at the "sailab zadgan" around him--all clean shaven government lackies in pants and shirts with smart phones in hand!
