Army chief visits Qadirabad Headworks to overlook relief efforts and rescue operations

Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has donated Rs100 million for flood victims, Express News reported, quoting an ISPR press release. 

The development took place during a meeting between the chief minister and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif on Tuesday. The two discussed the military operation in North Waziristan, internally displaced persons (IDPs) and the devastating floods in the country.

According to unconfirmed reports, 357 have fallen prey to the ravages of the flood across Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir so far while at least 206 people have been confirmed dead.

At least 920 militants have been killed so far in Operation Zarb-e-Azb, which started on June 15.

Army chief General Raheel Sharif has reached Qadirabad Headworks to overlook army’s relief efforts and rescue operations for flood victims in the area, DG ISPR Asim Bajwa tweeted.
