ABUJA:

A Fifa deadline on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), which restricted NFF president Chris Giwa to attend the office, passed on Monday with the president nowhere near the office location.

The NFF was under a lot of pressure due to the controversial appointment of the president, which resulted in nationwide boycotts from referees, players and match officials forcing Fifa to intervene and impose the restrictions.

NFF general secretary Musa Amudu believes that the controversy has now passed and that the federation is looking forward for more stability.

"It has been a trying period of two months for all of us but I’m glad we have come to the end of the crisis," said Amadu.
