PESHAWAR: Disgruntled workers of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) demanded the party leadership announce intra-party polls and threatened to announce their own chapters in all districts of K-P. This was decided at a convention held by the party’s dissatisfied leaders and workers at a local hotel on Saturday. Senior party members, including former federal minister Mian Muzaffar Shah, former MNA Tariq Khattak, former K-P assembly speaker Abdul Akbar Khan, were in attendance. The convention passed a unanimous resolution demanding the party’s senior leaders conduct intra-party polls immediately. The attendees vowed to only follow the party’s manifesto and continue striving for democracy. Another convention will be held in Charsadda on September 15.
