Tremors: Earthquake shakes Nawabshah

Another earthquake on May 9, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, had left two people dead and around 50 injured.

HYDERABAD: Nawabshah was shaken by an earthquake on Saturday morning, with aftershocks continuing for several minutes. The magnitude was recorded as 4.5 on the Richter scale, with the epicentre lying 80 kilometres northeast of the district’s Nawabshah tehsil and 19 kilometres deep. At least 10 persons reported minor injuries at the Peoples Medical College hospital. No loss to life or property was reported. Meanwhile, residents of the district’s urban areas came out of their houses and spent hours on the streets in fear of the aftershocks. This was the second earthquake to hit the district in the last four months. Another earthquake on May 9, measuring 4.6 on the Richter scale, had left two people dead and around 50 injured.
