Malik hits double ton
Shoaib Malik hit a superb double century and Aizaz Bin Ilyas took three cheap wickets as Faisalabad struggled on the second day against PIA at the Iqbal Stadium. After Malik’s 200 took PIA to 438 for eight, Ilyas took three for 19 to reduce Faisalabad to a precarious 79 for three.
Blues on top
Karachi Blues did well on the second day as they reached 231 for five in reply to NBP’s 349 all out in the first innings
at the National Stadium. Naveed Khan hit a 136-ball 62 and Ramiz Raja contributed 69. Earlier, Baber Rehman took four for 87 as the hosts took the remaining five wickets for 98 runs.
HBL dominate
HBL dominated the second day against Sialkot and trail by just 78 runs with seven wickets in hand at the Jinnah Stadium. Ahmed Hayat hit an unbeaten 114 as HBL reached 194 in reply to the hosts’ 272 all out. Hayat hit 15 fours and faced 176 deliveries.
Rawalpindi ahead
Rawalpindi took a 47-run lead with one batsman to spare as they made 271 for nine against SNGPL’s 224 in the first innings at the Pindi Stadium. Zahid Mansoor made 58 while Imran Ali took four for 96.
ZTBL hit 413
Yasir Hameed pressed for selection with an impressive century as ZTBL took a 162-run lead in the first innings against hosts Islamabad at the Diamond Ground. Hameed made 106 but it was Shahid Yousuf, who hit 162 off just 172 balls, that took ZTBL to 413 for seven after Islamabad were all out for 251.
