Action starts against 6 officials in BB case

ISLAMABAD: As part of government's decision to launch investigations after the UN report on Benazir Bhutto's assassination, six police officials have been made Officers on Special Duty.

Their names have also been put on the Exit control list.

The officers include Rawalpindi DCO Irfan Elahi, DIG Multan Saud Aziz, former SP Yasin Farooq and SPs Khurram Shehzad and Ashfaq Anwar. The contract of DG civil defence, retired Brigadier Javed Cheema has also been cancelled.

Information Minister Qamar Zaman Kaira says the officers have only been made OSDs at the moment. He says further action will be taken after the government completes its investigation.

The decision to take action against the officials was taken at a meeting between the president and the prime minister.

Monster told BB that your security is linked with our relations. But Benazir Bhutto was not scared of his threats and demanded of him to quit as army chief.First Musharaf tried to eleminate her in Karsaz incident on her arrival in Karachi on 18th October 2007 and gave go ahead to his cronies for second attack on 27th December 2007 in Rawalpindi that killed Benazir Bhutto.After release of UN Report a concerted campaign has been unleashed by pro-monster elements in electronic and print media to absolve monster Musharaf of his crimes and prove him innocent as he did not abrogate constitution, as he is not responsible of 3000 Pakistani soldiers death in his Kargil adventure, as he did nothing to judiciary, as he did not kill Akbar Bugti, as he did not make MMA to ruin the Khyber-Pakhtoonkhaw, as he did not strengthen Taliban while paying lip service to enlightenment and moderation.Enough of lies Mr Majid and Mr Master please.

Majid | 14 years ago | Reply It is ironic that the investigation regarding Ms Bhutto’s assassination has missed the most glaring and ironic dimension of Pakistani politics, the role of colonial powers in controlling and directing Pakistan’s internal and external polity. What most analysts have missed or aren’t ready to accept is the international dimension involved in Ms. Bhutto’s assassination. It is an open secret that a power sharing deal was brokered between Pervez Musharaf who was backed by the US and Benazir Bhutto who was backed by Britain. Richard Boucher, the Assistant US Secretary of State at that time, was the point man for the US while former British High Commissioner to Pakistan Mark Lyall Grant was negotiating on behalf of the British. Britain and US oversaw the political marriage between the most corrupt politician of Pakistan and one of the most brutal dictators in Pakistan’s history. The infamous NRO was promulgated to consolidate this opportunistic power sharing Deal. It was perhaps Ms.Bhutto’s refusal, on the encouragement of the British, to honor the deal, which lead to her political assassination at the hands of the pro US lobby in Pakistan. Reputed US journalist Seymour Hersh, while giving an interview to an Arab TV, broke the news of a secret death squad headed by US Vice President Dick Cheney which was tasked to carry out political assassinations and alleged that the same squad was behind Ms. Bhutto’s assassination, comments which he later disowned for obvious reasons. So Ms. Bhutto was a victim of a disagreement between two colonial powers competing each other for control in South Asia. What is unfortunate is that both Ms.Bhutto and Perverz Musharaf represented interests of two great powers Britain and the US and were not at all concerned with the issues of the common masses. Infact this sad dimension has been the hallmark of Pakistani Governments where the guarantees for regime security and stability depend upon loyalty to Western Masters. It is no surprise that every subsequent Pakistan government has staked its popularity in pursuit and protection of Western interests in the region. How else can the current alliance with the US in the disastrous War on Terror be justified by the government of a country which tops almost all anti US polls?
