Secret revealed: ‘Fake’ sub-inspector arrested

BAHAWALPUR: A sub-inspector in Bahalwalpur police using fake documents was arrested on Friday. A police spokesman said Shafqat Ali, a sub-inspector, was demoted by the district police officer six months ago for abuse of authority. He said Ali was later dismissed. The spokesman said Ali he submitted the appeal to the regional police officer for his reinstatement. He said when an inquiry officer verified Ali’s law degree, it was found to be fake. The inquiry further revealed that he got a job as a constable in Multan and had himself transferred using on fake orders.  The spokesman said Civil Lines police had registered a case and arrested him.
