Did you know? Operation 021 will be the first Pakistani film released on Dolby Atmos

The film starring veteran actors Shaan Shahid, Ayub Khoso and Shamoon Abbasi is scheduled to release on Eid Al-Azha.

The highly anticipated spy thriller Operation 021 would be the first Pakistani film to be mixed on Dolby Atmos announced the Facebook page of the movie.

Films such as Dhoom 3, Kick and D-Day were the major films from Bollywood to have been mixed using the state of the art surround sound technology created by Dolby Laboratories. The Atmos technology enables for an unlimited number of sound tracks to be distributed to theaters for optimal and dynamic rendering to loudspeakers based on the theaters capabilities thus allowing the audience members to have a much wholesome experience at the movie theater.

The film starring veteran actors Shaan Shahid, Ayub Khoso and Shamoon Abbasi is scheduled to release on Eid Al-Azha.

The producer of the film Azaan Sami Khan told Express Tribune that “We are proud to have an official license to get our film mixed and released on Dolby Atmos. This is not only a big achievement but a huge leap for Pakistani cinema at large.”


He further added, “though only a handful of cinemas in Punjab circuit support the Dolby Atmos technology but since we are aiming for a simultaneous International release this would come in very handy in enhancing the audio-visual experience of cinemagoers.”

The story is partly based on real life events including the bombing of Nato tanks in Afghanistan a few years back.
