Mandating Respect: Lawyers call for blasphemy law
The demonstrators carried placards and chanted slogans urging the government to amend the law
LAHORE:
Tens of lawyers staged a protest demonstration on Thursday against the lack of amendments in the Blasphemy Law to ensure that prophets were not disrespected anywhere in the world. The protest was held at the General Post Office Chowk on The Mall. The demonstrators carried placards and chanted slogans urging the government to amend the law. They said the government should ensure enforcement of blasphemy laws as world peace could not be achieved without it.
