VJ turned actor Mathira welcomed a baby boy on Tuesday, at a hospital in Karachi. Fans and celebrities seem to have taken quite nicely to the news of Mathira becoming a mother as they tweeted their congratulatory messages to the new mother on Twitter.

Television actor and model, Azfar Rehman took to Twitter to congratulate the new mother tweeting, “Congratulations on embracing motherhood @iammathira Lots of love & happiness for u and the baby.”

Several fans also expressed their joy at the news of Mathira entering motherhood on Twitter.

“Congratulations @IamMathira on the arrival of your baby boy. May Allah prosper his life, ameen. He sure is lucky to have you as his mother,” tweeted Abdul Mumin Qadri a fan of Mathira.

Mathira who had entered showbiz industry by hosting a health and yoga show on Vibe TV later hosted another show on the same channel, Love Indicator which brought her acclaim.

However, she dipped her toes into controversy after appearing in a contraceptive ad that was banned.

Since then, Mathira has continued to attract controversy from provocative photo-shoots to wardrobe malfunctions on the catwalk.

Mathira also tried her vocal cords at singing, releasing two singles, Jhoota and Jadugar. Both songs failed to create any buzz and were unsuccessful in climbing atop the music charts.

Last year, she appeared in Humayun Saeed’s box office hit film Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi performing an item number.

Mathira recently refused to do an item number in Sahir Lodhi’s upcoming film Mausam citing the reason that she would not be doing item numbers anymore and is instead more interested in doing lead roles.
