A man on Wednesday stabbed a person whom he suspected of being his wife’s paramour in Khurarianwala area.

A man on Wednesday stabbed a person whom he suspected of being his wife’s paramour in Khurarianwala area, Faisalabad. Khurarianwala police told The Express Tribune that Athar*, a resident of Chak 113-GB, had suspected that his wife was seeing another man. Police said that Abbas said stayed overnight at Athar’s house when he was away. They said that Athar found them together in ‘a compromising situation’ when he returned unexpectedly from his trip. Khurarianwala police said that Athar first beat Abbas badly and then stabbed him several times with a dagger. They said that the man lay bleeding heavily from his wounds till he passed away. Police said that Athar then turned on his wife and beat her badly with a club. The woman fainted from the blow and Athar fled the scene. The police said that the woman was found at her house by neighbours. They took her to a hospital where doctors treating her said that her condition was critical and that she might not survive. The Khurarianwala station house officer told The Express Tribune that they had registered a case and were conducting raids to find and arrest Athar.
