Lane Discipline: CTP launches awareness drive

Awareness banners have been displayed at all important intersections

RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police (CTP) has launched a traffic awareness campaign and education week to educate drivers on the use of mirrors and indicators while changing lanes on the roads. According to the Rawalpindi Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Shoaib Khurram Janbaz, motorists will be given tips about lane discipline, use of indicators and advantages of travelling in the correct lanes. Awareness banners have been displayed at all important intersections while pamphlets are also being distributed among road users. Janbaz said drivers who make sudden lane changes without using indicators risk their lives. He informed further that the mobile education unit of CTP is arranging special briefing sessions on road safety at important roads and public places in the city.
