LAHORE: Lahore High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition seeking the disqualification of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan for being non-maintainable. The petitioner accused them of lying to the nation by inviting the army chief to play arbiter between the government and opposing political parties. Justice Mansoor Ali Shah ruled that the question on hand was “political” and therefore not justiciable. The court advised the petitioner to raise the issue at an appropriate forum. Insaf Lawyers Forum Punjab Senior Vice President Gohar Nawaz Sindhu filed the petition. He said the PM and interior minister had violated the Constitution by lying to the nation that they had not invited the COAS to play the role of mediator and facilitator.
