Investigation under way: 3 held for killing newspaper employee

MARDAN: Three men accused of killing an employee of a local Urdu newspaper last week were arrested by police on Tuesday. According to a police official, Ihsan Ali, 28, an office assistant at an Urdu daily, was gunned down outside his office on August 29. He added police began an investigation after receiving a complaint of the shooting. During the course of investigation, police traced the three alleged shooters and arrested them. However, the official did not disclose the names of the accused. Further investigation is under way and the accused are being interrogated, he added. Ali had been working at the newspaper for the past 10 years. He was an assistant to the daily’s Mardan bureau chief. According to the FIR, three men came into the office, took him and killed him outside the office.
