Zoe Viccaji‘s debut music album, Dareeche has been two years in the making with a creative process that spans a lifetime. According to a press release, the album is all set to be released on the September 1 in India with Universal Music and independently by the artist in Pakistan. The album will be available online for download on iTunes worldwide and on Taazi.com in Pakistan. The CD will be available in stores in both Pakistan and India.

Dareeche is a culmination of songs written by Viccaji from the age of 15 with many life events and music genres influencing her lyrics and musical style. The venture began in 2012 at Shahi Hasan’s recording studio. It is here where gifted artists, such as Asad Ahmed, Omran Shafique and newbies such as Rachel Viccaji, Imaam Hamdani and the veteran lyricists; Sabir Zafar, Ali Alam and Asim Raza, teamed up.  When Universal Music heard the album was in its stages of production, they signed Viccaji as one of their artists in 2013. At this time she recorded additional tracks at their studio in Mumbai with sound engineer Devashish Ray along with an array of local musicians and lyricist Puneet Sharma. Christian Wright at Abbey Road Studios, London mastered the album.

Dareeche’ also features Viccaji’s very popular collaboration and reinterpretation of ‘Mera Bichra Yaar’ with Strings and a renovation of the Junoon classic, ‘Neend Aati Nahin’.

She has been formally performing and releasing music since 2010. Since then the artist has been featured on Coke Studio and songs for various other brands as well as original soundtracks for the remake of the PTV classic Tanhaiyaan, Josh the Film and Seedlings. Her live performances have also been enjoyed in musical theatre productions, notably Chicago and Mamma Mia.
