Pakistan on Saturday expressed concern that India continues to engage in unprovoked violations of the working boundary. According to a statement issued by the Foreign Office, indiscriminate firing on Charwah, Harpal and Chatrar sectors on August 23 was the 20th violation by Indian forces this month alone.
From June 1 to August 30, 140 violations by India of the working boundary and LoC have been recorded. These violations have also been reported to the United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP) and protests lodged with the Indian government through diplomatic channels earlier this month, the Foreign Office said.
Last Tuesday, the director general of military operations in his weekly hotline contact with his Indian counterpart conveyed details of these violations. It was agreed that regular contacts be maintained between local commanders, sector commanders, and Pakistan Rangers and Indian Border Security Force to observe the ceasefire.
However, a day after the conversation, India carried out unprovoked firing on Charwah and Phukhlian sectors.
“Pakistani forces would continue to exercise restraint but would have the right to respond in self-defence,” the Foreign Office said.
Pakistan has expressed its disappointment on a statement of the Indian prime minister attempting to shift the onus of cancelling the foreign secretary-level talks on Pakistan.

I guess it is very difficult for Indians to accept the truth.
@chai:
You actually, you actually replied to this. Even by Pakistani standards, this guy is quite deluded.
ET mods - please allow someone who has written to me not once but twice and that too. Quoting incorrect facts.
@Striver: Indian government has simply asked it to vacate free premises. It is welcome to stay where it wants to after paying fair market rent including Delhi. That does not amount to kicking it out.
Unlike your army that has prevented UN bodies from doing research in Balochistan, India has not stopped UNMOGIP from doing whatever it wants to and publishing whatever it wants to.
The reason India feels UNMOGIP has no utility is that India believes the Kashmir issue is biateral as per Simla agreement and there is no role for UN. I am mot reading Somla agreement selectiely at all. Please point out which part of the agreement visualises a role for UN. It is for this reason that India has not inolved this ody even once after Simla agreement was signed.
@Indu: Why is proving that we are democratic so much required? Why should we be proving anything given our record of 67 years? You need to get out of that trapped mindset !
@Gp65
Acutally I am right. Being told to vacate from 4 locations in Kashmir and not letting it perform its duties as as good as being kicked out. So you foll yourselves only by giving it a different interpretation. People are far more intelligent at interpreting events than you think they are.
The problem common amongst Hindu "nationalists" is that your nationalistic sentiments blind you to reality. Other people can see the truth but you want to live a bollywood scripted "reality".
@Gp65 I am right, actually.
UNMOGIP in Delhi and 4 locations in Jammu and Kashmir must vacate its government-allotted bungalows. Now when you tell UNMOGIP that its outlived "its utility" and do not facilitate it in carrying out its duties its as good as being kicked out. Its helps your government create a pack of lies against Pakistan. If your government has nothing to hide why is it not letting it investigate the violations?
As for the Simla Agreement I suggest you stop reading it selectively.This seems to be a problem with you guys. Enlighten yourself.
As for the performance of Indian troops, you guys live on fiction just remember battlefields don't run like the Bollywood script.
Your nationalistic sentiments blind you to reality. Please wake up before you endanger the region.
@Striver: Now time for your education. India has not asked the UN group to leave but have asked them to vacate their office for which they have not being paying rent for years now, 4 decades precisely. UN group still can work from their office from Kashmir. Now there is no LoC violation in New Delhi by Pakistan and hence no need for freebies. God, why could you not google it like I did? I thought only youtube is ban in Pakistan.

ET mods - this is the 3rd attempt. Please allow response to factually incorrect statements by 3 people.
@Striver: UNMOGIP has not been kicked out of India. It has simply been asked to vacate the rentfree premises it had been provided earlier because Indian overnment sees no benefit in the institution.
@Indu. Please read Simla agreement which has been signed by both countries. Also see the conditions which are prerequisiste for plebiscite in the UN resolution - none of which has been fulfilled by Pakistan (removing its army from Pak administered Kashmir, preserving demography of Pak administered Kashmir).
@Azi: please review outcome of all cases where Pakistani professional army confronted India's professional army before making statements about Indians being cowards.
@chai I need to educate you first. You're out of your depth.
LESSON1: UN Resolution 91 set up United Nations Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan (UNMOGIP). Their purpose is to observe and report violations of ceasefire on the LOC. Now if your government wanted the truth and nothing but the truth coming from your side it would have retained the UNMOGIP. Now your crooks in government can lie as much as they want. or so they think.
Let me know if you want me to simplify this for you further. I mean its not rocket science is it.
As for the rest of your post? You're a confused kid.
Guys don't show BJP rigidity. All i have suggested is give people what they want....AS WORLD OLDEST DEMOCRACY india must honour her promises. AND IM SURE KASHMIR WILL BE OURS!
India has to grow. You cannt hold it hostage to ur nonsensical prejudices.
Cheers!
@Striver: Where were the UN observers in the first place. Also Admiral Mike Mullen (Chairman of joint chiefs of Staff) had already officially made a statement regarding double games played by Pak Army. The world know whom to believe, it's not rocket science.
@Syed Jalal Kashmiri: Let religion not guide nationhood. Kashmiris have always been closer to Indian civilization and must remain so. Pakistan has no history or cultural roots to show. Current inclination in the valley is due to modern Wahabism at work. If people have to decide the fate of the region let the people of the subcontinent decide what will become of them and not small groups.
@Thotatum25: You're trying to defend the indefensible and the the only way one can defend it is by twisting logic to suit the lies that you guys have been fed with by your media and those in government. In case you missed the point the violations have been documented.
You are free to believe what want to but beware of becoming a "village fool".
@Indu: You are so impractical.
@Indu: Are you congenitally stupid? Do you really think anybody believes you are an Indian?
@Azi: @Striver: Do you really believe that India is violating the cease-fire? Why should it? If it dislikes Pakistan so much, this is not the time to provide a cause for uniting against a common enemy: the shenanigans in Islamabad are dividing the country, ruining the economy, weakening democracy and who knows portending another coup etc. Why spoil this tamasha?
@Zen:
And what lies within BSF's heart? Cowardice? What lies within their brain? Apathy for humanity? What lies within their psyche? Hate for people across some virtual line who never meant any harm to them or blind following of orders from superiors relaxing in Air conditioned rooms?
Judging from BSF's recent civilian to soldier kill ratio, it seems thats the case. Glad to see these "brave" ones to our east.
Let Kashmiris decide our own destiny. Shame on Indian politics resulting in the deaths of Pakistanis and Kashmiris. Shame on this occupier nation. They are worse than British.
Long live Kashmir, Pakistan brotherhood.
@Indu: You are an imposter, no Indian would ever say that. Kashmir has been part of India for over 5000 years and will remain so for the next 5000 years. PoK should be evacuated by Pakistan.
@Indu: Firstly i don't think you are an Indian. Secondly why don't you let your hand decide to cut itself off? When one's hand gets infected, we send in white blood cells using antibiotics to exterminate the bacteria.
K is better off with India . If India lets go then k will be eaten up in two days by LeT . iM or the one and only T.
As an indian i ask my fellow countrymen why are we fighting for Kashmir, let the people decide what they want....this is how we can prove we are a true democratic country. Jai Hind!
For years..,Even kargil was unprovoked firing from india
Sudhar jao nai to sudhaar diye jaoge :D
India should expect more border violations because there is term oil in Islamabad and Pakistn government wants to focus its citizens' attention elsewhere. Border skirmish with India will do this because earlier propaganda has turned Muslim Pakistanis into enemies of Hindus. India can even expect increase in terrorist activities.
Doesn’t Nawaz have bigger problems to content with or is this beginning of another Kergil? Is history repeating itself?
Strange! Here we recieve news as Pakistani forces violating ceasefire! Also visuals on a TV news channel were shown where the reporter was reporting live the fight of Indian armed forces with the infiltrated millitants. So what's the truth??
Looks like the Pakistan army's fight against the terrorists is not going so great as advertised. What better way to make the rabid dogs coming after you direct their hatred towards something else than start a border skirmish with India? The whole country including the crazed terrorists will become one pack and chase after the 'external threat' !
The Indians have blundered. They should not have closed the offices of UN observers. Obviously this helps Modi and his fools with their lies.
Its alright, this incompetent foreign office along with this greedy govt. will soon be replaced with people possessing courage strong enough to punch India back in its face. This govt. is used to staying quiet on India's target practice on civilians on LoC.
And in other breaking news, there is a firefight going on right now in Kupwara along the LoC with 9 Pakistani infiltrators who ambushed BSF personnel killing 2. 4 Pakistani infiltrators have been killed so far and a search is on for the other 5.
After the DGMO call which lasted barely 12 minutes, Pakistan started firing that night itself and the Indians responded the next day.
