RAWALPINDI:

The diverse and creative thesis work of fine arts students of Fatima Jinnah Women University (FJWU) is on display at the varsity.

The art exhibition assembles the work of the university’s postgraduate students.

A staggering variety of ideas, from the very personal to social, have been creatively explored by the students in diverse media.

The display consists of work by various students in the disciplines of graphics, oil painting, miniature painting with the combination of hot needle technique, print making and textile.

FJWU Acting Vice-Chancellor Dr Naheed Zia Khan, the chief guest at the occasion, said aesthetic sense was a unique gift of providence to humankind, however, like everything else, the gift was not evenly distributed.  Khan said many students studying in the Fine Arts Department were among those fortunate of having disproportionally higher abilities and capabilities to appreciate and exhibit the aesthetic sense.

The exhibition attracted a large number of students and members of the faculty, as well as people belonging to different walks of life.

The event will remain open till September 1 for public viewing.
