Model Town incident: Police present challan in ATC
Police produced Butt before the court and handed in the challan which stated that the Model Town incident escalated due to Butt's involvement in it.
On August 2, an ATC had ordered police to complete the challan against Butt by August 9, however, an investigation officer had requested the judge to grant him more time to complete it.
Butt was caught smashing cars during the clashes between Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) workers and the police outside the Minhajul Quran International Secretariat on June 17.
He smashed windscreens and windows of private vehicles with his club, while police officials looked on and the vandalism continued unabated.
On August 5, a division bench of the LHC had sought investigation record from police on a bail application by Butt.
His counsel had submitted that he was mentally unfit and that police had wrongfully implicated him in the case.

He is mentally unfit and menace to society, so they let out on bail. makes sense, only in pakistan democratic system.
Congratulations for effective control of narrative and for impugning the real cause of the Model Town tragedy. That real cause was Qadri's instigation of his followers who fired on the police from Minhaj Secretariat, threw stones at the police when they were performing their duty. The Government is lying to protect Qadri because it is afraid of his people's following and the threat to topple the govt. The real culprits must be booked in the ATC but the govt. is messing up, since it is spineless.
Smashing car windows is not shooting people dead, Guloo's action, wrong as it is but it is not killing, The police and the administration is using Guloo as their sacrificial Lamb. People who gave the orders and people who carried them out should be bought to court not a window smasher.

Wonder what action has been taken against police in whose presence the law was continuously smashed but they did nothimg to prevent?

Great scapegoat PMLN, 8 people died because one of PMLN's goons started smashing cars, whilst the police kept watching and congratulating him! and somehow it is Gullu Butt's mistake that 8 people died?!

FIR should also be filed against the police as well.
Money should be forcefully taken out of the personal accounts of Gullu butt his company of police officers and should be paid to those people whose cars were heavily damaged by this guy.

It is surprising that his counsel is pleading his case by stating that Gullu Butt is mentally unfit. His determination in doing damage, aggressive posture, fearsome and challenging expressions all speak of a dangerous character to society. And the police just stood by watching gullu escalate the situation? Either the police are really dumb or thet are lying...like nawaz yesterday.
In the game of powerful , poor gullu is just a sacrifice. He committed a crime but I do not believe he is the 'responsible' one for model town carnage. Even when a tube well is provided to village then CM pictures are adorned on it to emphasize that it is on his 'personal involvement' and he is responsible for this gift. On other end , fifteen people are massacred overnight in Model Town and a low level Gullu is sent to Gallows as responsible for it ?
