Explosion: Two injured in cylinder blast

RAWALPINDI: A cylinder blast at a CNG station on Double Road injured two persons on Friday evening in the limits of New Town Police Station. Wajid Rafique Abbasi, owner of the Abbasi CNG Station, said a fire suddenly broke out in the machine room which gutted down the compressor, dispenser and a PLC canopy. A CNG cylinder blew up at the same time. Two CNG station employees suffered burn injuries in the explosion. Rescue teams reached the spot in time and put off the fire. They took the injured to the hospital. Rescue workers said apparently a short circuit and gas leakage caused the fire and explosion.
