Shakespeare’s Fasana-e-Ajaaib

William Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale transforms itself in Urdu on stage in Karachi as Fasana-e-Ajaaib. The National Academy of Performing Arts (Napa) and the British Council have collaborated to bring us a play directed by Gregory Thomson, staging from August 28 to August 31. More than being a play by Shakespeare, it will be interesting to see is how an English director has put together a play in Urdu.

Alongside Pakistani actress Humaima Malik, the film sets Hashmi as a small-time con artist seeking assistance from his mentor with the intention of setting scores with a gangster.Filmed with drama and action, Raja Natarwal is a fun, one-time watch but a must-watch — for Humaima’s sake!

Lucy

Any movie with Scarlett Johansson becomes a must. Lucy hit the screens on August 28, having tickets booked way in advance for its premier. The sultry Johansson plays a woman accidentally caught in a dark deal, turns the tables on her captors and transforms into a merciless warrior evolved beyond human logic. The entire film was shot in Taipei, Paris and New York City. Johansson plays along renowned actor Morgan Freeman, Amr Waked and Choi Min-sik. Worth the wait in line at the cinema, doubled with a box of hot pop-corn, we give you a perfect entertainment packed evening.
