Anniversary: JI celebrates 73rd Youm-e-Tasees

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Sindh chapter celebrated its 73rd ‘youm-e-tasees’ - the day the party was founded, with great zeal and fervour. Workers and activists paid homage to their pioneer, Syed Abul Ala Maududi. Various programmes were held in different cities of the province, including Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Jacobabad, Nawabshah, Tando Adam Khan, Larkana and Shahdadkot. The speakers paid tributes to Maududi for his contributions. The JI was established prior to the independence of Pakistan by 75 people under Maududi’s leadership. Former MNA Asadullah Bhutto said that the JI has always served the nation. Speakers addressed issues being faced by Muslims globally, particularly in Kashmir and Palestine. They urged for the distribution of Maududi’s writings among the youth to promote political awareness.
