Arms haul: FC foils terror bid in Khuzdar

Security personnel recover three detonators, 26 bullets of sniper rifle, nine IED remote controls, 13 IED antenna

QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) on Monday claimed to have foiled a terror bid in troubled Khuzdar district by seizing a cache of arms and ammunition in Killi Pishi Khpar. Two suspects were arrested during the operation. “The raid was carried out on the information shared by intelligence agencies,” said a Balochistan FC statement. Security personnel recovered three detonators, 26 bullets of sniper rifle, nine IED remote controls, 13 IED antenna, a rocket launcher, seven rockets, a mortar shell, two rocket fuses, seven kilogrammes of explosives, 179 SMG grenades and an IED battery. Two suspects were arrested during the raid and have been shifted to an undisclosed location for questioning. “The militants wanted to use these arms and ammunition for subversive activities on August 26 (today),” the press release said.
