Development projects: ‘Sindh coastal areas need attention’

Development schemes to bring economic and social betterment in lives of coastal area residents, Dr Mandhro

KARACHI: A meeting was held under the supervision of Sindh Provincial Minister Dr Sikandar Mandhro to discuss the economic and social development of coastal areas. The minister reviewed viable projects for residents of these coastal areas. It was decided to construct water storage ponds, a jetty and promote cultivation of palm trees. The meeting was informed about the possibilities of joint ventures and fruitful partnerships, particularly with Malaysia. On the occasion, Dr Mandhro said the first priority of development schemes is to bring economic and social betterment in the lives of coastal area residents. He stressed that residents would be better off after completion of these schemes as the issue is completely ignored by the community in general.
