Karo kari: Man, woman shot dead

SUKKUR: A man and woman were gunned down over the pretext of karo kari in a village within the limits of the Salehpat police station on Sunday. Pathan Shambhani suspected that his wife, Gul Bano, was in a relationship with their neighbour, Zulfiqar Shambhani, due to which he shot her. She died on the spot. Afterwards, he went over to Zulfiqar’s house and killed him. The police took the bodies to taluka hospital Rohri for the postmortem and then handed them over to the families for the burial. The Salehpat police claim to have arrested the accused and have seized the murder weapons. No case was registered till the filing of this report.
