I am from India and I occasionally visit the website of this newspaper to get a taste of views from across the border. Ms Azhar’s piece was good and well argued, and I would say that it holds true for the whole subcontinent. For instance, the Commonwealth Games were held in India recently and it was a big media event. However, they were mired in corruption as well and the ruling Congress party has had to sack the head of the organising committee, a well-known politician from the party.
