The All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) has called upon Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to immediately withdraw the government’s treason trial against Musharraf as part of what it called a 'compromise' to unlock the current political crisis.
In a statement released on Saturday, political advisor to Musharraf Chaudhry Sarfraz Anjum Kahlon stated that it was “compulsory for any discussion concerning an end to the current national political crisis to include the immediate withdrawal of the politically-motivated treason trial against Musharraf."
Describing the treason trial as a "fundamental element of the ongoing political crisis," Kahlon claimed he has received "assurances from senior members of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Isaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) that the withdrawal of the treason trial would be privately presented as a fundamental demand in negotiations with the government."
According to the statement, in June 2013, Kahlon lead private discussions with the PTI and the PAT in which it had been agreed that both parties would provide support to Musharraf "at the right time".
Kahlon added, in the statement, that "Nawaz Sharif has lost his political mandate to pursue the baseless treason trial, which has served to undermine the country's democratic system."

: Pakistan Government has never supplied any arms to militants in Syria or Iraq.
@Swat wala: Bozo: you are just prejudiced. Pak Army clearly ruled out interference in Syria and Iraq and no arms can be supplied to any country without the approval of the military. Get a life.
@Swat wala: Please share your evidence. If you have none, kindly do not create suspicions without proof. In times of need if Pakistan takes assistance from one country it does not automatically mean that it is against another country. Such conjectures arise because of preconceived notions.
@Swat wala: Don't talk without proof.
Why I am not surprised! Finally the truth is trickling out.
On the first instance the case is all fraud, it should have started from Oct 99.
This was the real reason for the dharnas all along... Took a long time to be revealed
@Yes: Bobo, that was not a grant. That $1.5 billion [US] was for arms for extremists/militants. In Syria. That now has spread to Iraq. Paks supplied those arms. Saudia paid.
so cat is out of the bag,Inqilab , tabdeeli ? no no just release Mush and we are OK.
Musharraf is being supported by the protesting groups, especially PAT. This is one of the causes of the pressurizing against the Govt. Other causes include but are not limited to the ones stated below: One: Antagonizing sectarian groups, such as, Wahdat ul Muslimeen, by taking legal approach against the torching of a madrasah and mosque in Rawalpindi. Two: Not proceeding to complete the Iran-Pak gas pipeline. Three: "Getting close to Saudi Arabia" by accepting grants from them.
@seema: This power hungry game played by IK who wants to be PM and the Canadian Moulana who is looking the Caliph throne. It has nothing to do with Musharaf and ultimately Supreme Court can decide his fate.
@Ahmed: Iam sure He would be a threat to you But Country is not to serve your opportunistic missions or idiotic wishes but it belongs to 200 Million People so???????
If this news is correct that PTI and PAT are ready to extend support to Musarraf then it is again a 'U' turn on their part . This news may be true due to their flop show at Islamabad and they want to create a new trap for the gorvernment . To me there is no need of such help to Musarraf as no one in Pakistan still can touch him .
I support Mushraaf and request to PTI please make include Mussraf in PTI if it is possible and public has no objection .. i will be great ful to PTI
We told NS dont mess up with the boss. This is his 3rd time but he doesnt listen. They said he has become wiser. We all had doubt. He just proved old habbits die hard. There was a very clear understanding but he went overboard. He thought if Turkey can do it why cant he. He forgot, in Turkey the Govt delivered results. The military gained significantly because of economic progresssion. Even then it wasnt easy for them to put former generals on trial. Our NS failed to deliver even for the 3rd time and repeated the same mistake for the 3rd time. Such a person doesnt deserve to run the country.
This is a very sad request. Pakistan is lot larger than one dictator.Constitution of the Country has to be respected and those who violate the constitution must suffer the consequences according to law.
Musharraf the great! Salute you,sir.
Seldom have I known anyone who has the penchant to get himself in more trouble than he could be in otherwise. This statement of his can make things more difficult for him and for those trying to help him.
tit 4 tat politics amongst top leadership has ruined the hopes of people who elect them.
We all know that IK + TuQ are being funded by establishment to get mushy out of Pakistan ...
But I say, let the law take it's course. Otherwise we will continually have "Bonapartes" trying to come through the back door..
Did APML just expose the ISI-PTI nexus? So smart they are.
so its opening up? real motives behind all this nonsense going on!!!
Dear Gen. (Retd.) Musharraf Saheb: You ruled Pakistan for 9 years. Please have a mercy on us now...and leave us alone.
Love Musharraf who is far better than thieves and thugs.
PML N must be behind this nonsense.
Strange Move Indeed. I don't know if it's going to help Musharraf or it's going to help Musharraf bashers in Pak's Politics.
