Encounter: Rangers personnel killed, another wounded

KARACHI:

A personnel of the Rangers lost his life and another was wounded during an exchange of fire with alleged extortionists in Defence on Tuesday.

One of the alleged extortionists was also killed during the encounter, while his companion managed to escape. A Rangers spokesperson said that the Rangers Special Task Force (RSTF) received an extortion complaint from a local trader, following which RSTF started an investigation and laid a trap to arrest the culprits. The encounter took place near Kala Pul when the culprits came to collect the extortion amount.
