Sexual Assault : Teenage girl raped by suitor

MANSEHRA: A teenage girl was allegedly raped in a remote village of Mansehra, police said on Monday. DSP Zulfiqar Jadoon said Farzana*, 14, a resident of Gandhian, was set to marry a man named Riasat from the same village. However, the accused asked the teenager to come and solemnise the nikkah at a hotel in Khaki and then allegedly raped her. Police said the victim was also severely beaten. A medical examination confirmed Farzana had been raped and there were several bruises on her body. Police subsequently arrested Riasat and four of his accomplices after registering a case. *Name changed to protect identity
