Political environment: PIAF unites amid crisis
PIAF chairman, VP say call for civil disobedience is against ground realities
LAHORE:
The Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) has outrightly rejected the call for civil disobedience and termed it a conspiracy to create anarchy in the country. Business community would resist any move to destabilise the country, said a statement issued on Monday. PIAF Chairman Malik Tahir Javed, Senior Vice President Khamis Saeed Butt and Vice Chairman Amjad Ali Jawa said that the call for civil disobedience is against ground realities and an attempt to initiate problems between government and masses. “The country is already facing a number of internal and external challenges. The call for disobedience would only add fuel to the fire. How will the day-to-day affairs of the country run if taxes, gas bill, GST and electricity bills are not paid?” they questioned. They said that the national economy is already in a bad shape. Politicians should resolve their differences through talks, keeping in view the best interest for the country.”
