We will only leave when (Imran) Khan asks us to go back.
These are the general sentiments of the young participants of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s (PTI) rally on Kashmir Highway. Emotionally charged, despite the low turnout, participants had several words of advice for their revered leader.
Khawaja Abdullah, a Lahore resident in town for the march, said they have come to take back their stolen mandate from the Sharifs.
However, he said Khan should end his alliance with leaders such as Sheikh Rasheed as his past was a liability.
Abdullah was of the view that PTI should not enter into an alliance with Tahirul Qadri since his recent statements were harsh and indicative of promoting violent means.
He suggested that everyone should refrain from discussing the personal lives of politicians. “We should only scrutinise their professional lives,” Abdullah said.
Another participant, who requested anonymity, said he would be satisfied if the government announced to verify votes in the constituencies where elections results had become controversial.
