Unidentified armed assailants threw a hand-grenade at a Malir City police station located on the main National Highway in the early hours of Thursday. Nonetheless, no loss of life was reported.
According to the police officials, unidentified armed men attacked a police station by throwing a hand-grenade from the backside of the station. The grenade exploded outside the room of the SHO, partially damaging the police station. As a result of the explosion, the policemen on duty retaliated and opened indiscriminate firing.
However, the culprits managed to escape while throwing another hand-grenade that hit and damaged the wall of the police station. Police officials were unable to trace the group behind the attack. Further investigations are under way.
