LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge sought comments on Wednesday from the Kahna station house officer on a petition filed by a man seeking a case against his brothers who allegedly thrashed his pregnant wife. Petitioner Muhammad Munir said he had an inheritance dispute with his brothers Zulifqar and Muhammad Mansha. He said his brothers often argued with him and his wife so they would leave their house, leaving them free to grab the entire property. He said his brothers beat up his nine-month pregnant wife Aasia Bibi a few days ago. He said her condition took a turn for the worse and she was taken to a hospital where she underwent surgery. He said a girl was born but there were several marks on her body that doctors told him were a result of the thrashing his wife had undergone.  He said his brothers had not only beaten up his wife, but also his daughter. He said he then approached the police but they refused to register a case against his brothers. He requested the court to direct the police to register a case against his brothers for attacking his wife and daughter.
