Vision 2025: ‘Made in Pakistan’ to promote local goods

Unisame President Zulfikar Thaver urged the minister to promote up gradation of SME products in food

JAMSHORO: The Union of Small and Medium Enterprises (Unisame) has hailed the idea of bringing up the label “Made in Pakistan” in Vision 2025, and invited the attention of Federal Minister for Planning Prof Ahsan Iqbal to the role of SME sector in value addition and its role as a back forte to the large sector. Unisame President Zulfikar Thaver urged the minister to promote up gradation of SME products in food, textiles and light engineering to meet global challenges and image building of Pakistani goods. Salman Merchant, convener Unisame’s e-commerce section, said the SME sector can benefit through comprehensive knowledge-based use of internet facilities in marketing, branding, image building and selling online. He advised the SME sector to avail the services of experts to widen the scope and penetrate non-traditional markets by regular advertisements and online presence.
