Celebrations: PGMI holds Independence Day walk

A Jashn-i-Azadi walk was organised by the Post Graduate Medical Institute in connection with Independence Day

LAHORE: A Jashn-i-Azadi walk was organised by the Post Graduate Medical Institute in connection with Independence Day celebrations on Tuesday. Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafiq led the walk from Birdwood Road to Shadman Chowk. PGMI Principal Prof Anjum Habib Vohra, Lahore General Hospital MS Pervaiz Imtiaz and students of Ameeruddin Medical College, Post Graduate College of Nursing and Nursing School of LGH participated in the walk. The student nurses sang the national anthem. Rafiq said the government had announced month-long Independence Day celebrations and organised various events in this regard. He said the purpose of these events was to create awareness about the Pakistan Movement among the youth and the children.
