KARACHI: The Sindh government has decided to ask the federal government to transfer the property left behind by the owners who gave up their nationality for distribution among occupant farmers. The property, abandoned by owners who changed nationality, mostly falls in the Tharparkar district. According to a handout issued on Tuesday, the property will only be transferred to bonafide farmers registered in the ‘Khasra’ (record of cultivation). Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has also planned to table a bill in the Sindh Assembly to pass an act to replace the phrase ‘scheduled caste’ with ‘non-Muslims’ in official correspondence.
