Appeal accepted: Rathore reinstated as PEMRA head

Two-judge bench accepts govt’s appeal against IHC verdict to suspend acting chairman of media regulatory body

ISLAMABAD: Setting aside Islamabad High Court’s (IHC) July 15 verdict, the Supreme Court has reinstated Pervez Rathore as Pemra’s acting chairman and Kamaluddin Tipu as its member. The two-judge bench headed by Chief Justice Nasirul Mulk has accepted the government’s appeal against IHC verdict to suspend acting chairman of the media regulatory body.
