Sri Lanka rise in the ODI table

Sri Lanka rise above India after maiden series win over Australia.

Sri Lanka have risen above India to second in the International Cricket Council (ICC) One-Day International (ODI) championship tables after their maiden series win over leaders Australia.

The win gave them three ratings points to replace India and lag behind Australia by 10 points. India are one point adrift of Sri Lanka and have a chance to regain their position if they win all five ODIs against New Zealand.

Sri Lanka won the series opener and then took a 2-0 lead by winning the Sydney ODI, after which Australia claimed a consolation win in Brisbane. Meanwhile, South Africa and Pakistan have retained their positions after the Proteas won the recently-concluded series 3-2. South Africa are on 115 points against Pakistan’s 100.
