Except withdrawal of Article 245’s notification, the government has agreed to negotiate three out of four demands presented by Jamaat-e-Islami chief Sirajul Haq to lure Imran Khan back to the negotiating table ahead of the Azadi March, insiders told The Express Tribune.
In reaction, PTI has expanded its charter of demands and decided to push the government for fresh elections under a new independent Election Commission of Pakistan.
A two-member delegation of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) met Sirajul Haq in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa House and informed about the progress on the opposition parties’ four-point agenda, which includes an audit of 10 constituencies through a presidential ordinance, withdrawal of Article 245, release of all political workers and unblocking of road blockages.
Haq also conveyed a message to the prime minister that more concrete steps are needed to avoid any untoward situation on August 14.
When approached, the JI chief said he saw the government’s ‘will and desire’ to address this serious issue. He said that he will convey government’s response to Imran Khan most probably today (Sunday). “These are political differences and they can be resolved through political means only.” Haq called on the government and the PTI to defuse the situation, saying that the people of Pakistan were suffering from the prevailing crisis.

Imran Khan.... Zinda Baad.............Dr. Tahir ul Qadri ....Zinda Baad
Sad looking mulla, negotiating fast and furious.
@Saba:
Say what you may, we will make Imran PM at any cost to kick out your darbari daddies living off of corruption and graft.
Learn a skill now because daddy won't be around to get you a cushy government job or send you to Tufts on looted money!
See you on the 14th!
we dont know what will happen on 14th August.
PM NS is a true leader and the way he is asking the opposition to sit and discuss shows his sincerity. Im sure if he wanted he could have brought his voters on the streets but PMLN continues to show restraint which is one of the qualities of being a leader. Will be voting PMLN come next elections
Imran want to become PM at every cost and he will never come to the table.Period !
No need to cave into street thugs! Rho can't win elections ... and only beckon the army to help them become PM...
We are fed up of IK and his dreams of becoming PM.
The government should not cave into miscreants who run street gangs, especially a party that had just won a minuscule 35 seats .
The time of Ghaznivi is over . We are in the 21st century . We vote through ballot , not march to seize cities.
PMLn say something else and do exactly the opposite. If they agree on releasing party workers to defuse the situation, why did they arrest them in the first place then?
JI desperately trying to make themselves relevant in Pakistan politics again after having failed to secure even a dozen seats.
