HYDERABAD: The Milli Yakjehti Council has urged the government, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek to avoid taking violent measures. “They should not push the country in to a civil war-like situation by taking the course of violence,” said the council’s chief Dr Sahibzada Abdul Khair Muhammad Zubair. Zubair asked the government to desist from carrying out security measures which impede the protest demonstrations and rallies since, according to him, holding protests is every citizen’s constitutional right. “Pakistan is already surrounded by so many internal and external threats,” he said. “The ongoing political violence, if not stopped, has the potential to cause irreparable damage,” he added.
