The 'Azadi' march and the 'revolution' march will both be held on the same day, says PAT chief

MIANWALI/ FAISALABAD/ LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, while observing Youm-e-Shuhuda (martyrs day) on August 10 in Lahore to commemorate those killed during clashes on June 17 between PAT supporters and police, announced that his 'revolution' march would coincide with PTI's Azadi march on August 14.

Since the Youm-e-Shuhuda announcement, along with which he had also 'predicted' that the current government would not stay in place beyond this month, there has been a resurgence in the standoff between Qadri's supporters and the government.

Violence broke out on August 8 after hundreds of baton-wielding PAT supporters clashed with law enforcers and tried to remove shipping containers used to block roads leading to Qadri's house and the place that they were supposed to gather for 'Youm-e-Shuhuda.'
