Patriotic patrolling: NHMP finalises Independence Day plans

Cheema directed the hoisting of the national flag on all NHMP buildings.

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) revealed plans to celebrate Independence Day with ‘fervour and enthusiasm’ at a meeting held on Friday at the NHMP Headquarters.


The meeting, under chairmanship of NHMP Inspector General Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema, was attended by all zonal deputy inspector generals (DIGs) and senior superintendents of police.


Cheema directed the hoisting of the national flag on all NHMP buildings and stated the flag would be displayed on all official vehicles as well, including patrolling mobiles, from August 12 to 14.


The national anthem along with patriotic songs would be played on all LEDs installed on toll plazas of the motorways and highways, he instructed.


Cheema further stated that flag leaflets and pamphlets would be distributed among road users at all toll plazas from August 10.


The IG further said that all zonal DIGs would arrange rallies on August 14to celebrate Independence Day in their respective zones.
