Commissioner Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui announced on Thursday that his office will host a beach safety conference on August 11.
The conference will focus on improved resources and capacities of all relevant departments for the safety of the workers as well as visitors.
The commissioner has sought close coordination among all departments including Karachi Metropolitan Corporation and other civil society organisations for the purpose.
Representatives from all the relevant institutions have been asked to come forward with their suggestions for measures to ensure the protection of lives on the beach belts.
