Throwing his weight behind Malala, Justin -- who is already an avid philanthropist supporting various charities and causes around the world -- expressed how he wants to meet Malala in person to discuss how he can support her and her fund.
The blurred image posted on social networking site Facebook by Bieber shows both Malala and Bieber in high spirits, happily chatting away. Bieber’s online rendezvous with Malala adds to his generous celebrity profile.
Malala took the world by storm in 2012 when she was attacked by Taliban for openly sounding her experiences under the Taliban reign in a blog in 2009. Since then Malala has become more of a household name in Pakistan, with a lot of educational activists in the region pinning their hopes and aspirations on this young activist.
Last year on her birthday – 16th July, 2013, Malala delivered a speech at the UN, addressing the cause of education and called for worldwide accessibility to education. The UN marked the day as “Malala Day” highlighting her first public address.

I totally agree with u !! @Mohsin Haider:
I just cant stand this drama queen. If she is in so much love for the betterment of Pakistan and its "human rights" then she should come back to Pakistan along with the drame script writer father to serve the country rather then enjoying life in the UK
While i admire Malala bravery i dont find the title of educationalist activist to be true.
Where are the schools she has built for girls?
What is her actual contribution other than giving speeches and globe trotting.
Edhi has done far far more work than she has and what has edhi got, not even a full times cover story. He runs the largest ambulnace service.
Maybe we should show a poster child for American drone attacks in Pakistan. or Isralei attacks in Palestine. ,
She is doing a great job. We are proud of her. Keep going Malala.
It's really good to see Malala working on education in Pakistan but here, when Gaza's under attack, she is silent, that is something that has been bulging me and so, sorry but I have to be an anti malalian.
when would Ms. Malala utter a few words for the children of Gaza ???
When does Malala go to school?
and why you guys care so much, why should we care? it's none of our business what she gonna do or not... plzzz...
@zara She's not being used unknowingly rather she's a part of their propaganda.. She's just enjoying all the fame, her british citizenship, honorary degrees and her name tattooed on madonna's back
by the way .. Malala isnt a pakistani blood (Check It out) .. Shes a Foreign Material Used against Us...
My first reaction to this was ten seconds of holding my head in shame. It was followed by an attempt to understand where she was coming from. "At least we're getting funding by building relations with internationally recognized individuals. Awareness and funding, two birds with one stone."
I will not criticize her use of FaceTime as a means of communication. To each their own. What i WILL criticize is why she would use someone with as notorious a character as JUSTIN BIEBER to engage in our country's empowerment. Is that something to be proud of? Is that the source from where you would like to gather your funding?
"Generous celebrity profile" my toe, are we forgetting about his notorious character after having been sent to jail for being publicly involved in drugs or whatever scandals he was accused of? Are we going to ignore his credibility as a politically involved humanitarian and assume that he knows everything about the situation in Pakistan, so that helping us is actually a product of welfare?
This is a fame game from both sides, and the most disgusting of sorts. Great job Malala, you're getting educational reform for all the underprivileged women in your area. Now let's move on to people like Edhi or teachers volunteering in remote areas or even Principals of public sector schools who deserve ten times the recognition you have received.
Also, the journalistic form of writing is absolutely atrocious. Please try to employ writers who will not try to give the article a biased flavor or use generalizations such as "Malala has become more of a household name in Pakistan, with a lot of educational activists in the region pinning their hopes and aspirations on this young activist" because she is certainly not a household name in my community and I have never in my life heard any educated member of the Pakistani community make a statement as emotional as that. If you have, I would strongly recommend you cite your sources to make your stories more credible.
Even a dumbo like Bieber can understand the greatness of this girl, still many Pakistanis unfortunately can't..Sad :(
how cleverly west is using this girl against her own community she does not realize. she is be-fooled on every occasion and is motivated to speak against its own culture and presents in most horrific form....!! little fool lady.....!!
@LEJ.....Pot calling the kettle black !!
@Mohsin Haider, I totally agree with you. Media can create a hero out of anybody nowadays. Thousands of people have died due to US drone strikes and Taliban attacks. People die everyday but nobody even cares to mention their names but the so called "education activist" Malala is everywhere on the news... and btw beiber??? I dont even want to get into that debate.
@Mohsin Haider,
The Islamic world is running on emptiness. Empty rhetoric, empty slogans and empty icons. Our reality is mass-manufactured through the viral agency of the social media.
That's why Malala is depicted as having achieved fantastic feats and yet....I can't find a single instance where she really made a difference. But as long as Madonna strips (check it out) to praise Malala or Bieber chats with her, we are enjoined to believe that this girl has achieved things that no other daughter of Pakistan can ever aspire too in a million years.
@Mohsin Haider: Oh c'mon - don't be jealous. She deserves the title to her credit, don't her actions speak for themselves?
That is so cool justin!
That is so cool!
@Mohsin Haider: Its all superficial. The CIVILIZED NATIONS and UN itself just want faces to promote their image. Who cares to verify what actually has been done.
The world has never been about truth , its always about FACES & PROMOTION ....
Another great win for Malala and fail for Taliban !!
Malala can star in his new video
Unbeleable!! Never thought Malala would be become a bieleber
Cool. When is she meeting Miley Cyrus?
