Indian army official arrested for leaking sensitive information to 'Pakistani' Facebook friend

Official alleged to have passed on information about locations of missile units, movement of units and officers

HYDERABAD, INDIA: An Indian army official was arrested for allegedly passing on sensitive information to a 'Pakistani' woman he befriended on Facebook, according to The Hindu.

The Indian daily reported that the Hyderabad police arrested Naik Subedar Patak Kumar Poddar, who works in the artillery centre, on Wednesday. Official sources said the woman is suspected to be Pakistani.

Further, it was said that the official walked into what appears to be a "honey trap" a year ago and was in touch with the woman who identified herself as Anushka Agarwal on Facebook, according to The Hindu.

Poddar is alleged to have passed on information about locations of missile units, movement of units and officers to her via Facebook and through emails.
