During the NA session today, Shah clarified that his party, the Pakistan Peoples Party, would support the PML-N.
Further, in a meeting with federal minister Zaid Hamid in Islamabad, Shah said he would try to convince PTI chief Imran Khan and the government to resolve their differences.
On Saturday, Shah had stated that they would not be a "friendly opposition" anymore, while terming the government's decision to invoke Article 245 a "political blunder".
On Sunday, in an interview with Radio Pakistan, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that he is ready to listen to the opposition and remove its grievances, whether they sit with him before or after the long march.
However, the PTI leadership has already slammed the door shut on negotiations with the government. The party has started mobilising its supporters for the Azadi March at Islamabad’s D-Chowk, where it expects one million people to show up on August 14.
Furthermore, Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) chief Dr Tahirul Qadri is also planning on leading an 'Inqilabi' march to the capital on Independence Day.
Additionally, former president Asif Ali Zardari called Pakistan Muslim League – Quaid leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to discuss PTI’s ‘Azadi’ march and PAT’s ‘Inqilabi’ march.

Yes, it's a good effort . The Third party should not be allowed to take the advantage of current political mess in Pakistan . Army should be engaged in NW and not in Islamabad .
@Nida Alvi: You forgot to mention other minor contributions such as world peace, cure for HIV, saving whales, invention of ever lasting bulb, author of self defence manual for peacocks etc etc.
@Nida Alvi: Maybe you have forgotten that PMLN was also threatening long marches against PPP? And on more then one occasion...

So I guess its "democratic norm" if PMLN do it, but against democracy if PTI do it?
Can somebody take Mr Khurshid Shah and PPP(zardari group) ever seriously when at a hint of trouble Zardari, bilawal and his cronies have fled abroad. PPP is already dead and clowns are issuing statements. All of the PPP members of Parliament are anxiously waiting for the outcome of Aug 10 and 14, meanwhile this person is issuing a comic statement.
@Nida Alvi, don't be naïve. These politicians care about democracy only as soon as they have their share of loot. What have they provided the citizens with their so-called democracy? Please tell me ONE good thing.
Rather than making the government weak by rallies & processions, the opposition should work together with the government to promote the national agenda and throw these conspirators out once for all. Nawaz Sharif made a great sacrifice by changing the democratic norm and refused to become part of any conspiracy to overthrow the elected government of PPP. Its time for PPP to return the favor to democracy. It is a brave new world with robust judiciary, independent media and better aware academia of the 21st century.
Yes now its your turn to support the culprits.
This is mature stance of PPP and they are of course champions of democratic norms, Last PPP Govt dealt Media, opposition parties and Establishment with grace and patience and they also faced courts with great tolerance and wisdom. Today, even PTI says Justice Chaudhry was unfair, it vindicates PPP. No doubt, PPP has gross root level presence, talented political leaders and visionary leadership. I hope, they will also deliver in Sindh this time, so that they prove their good governance. God Luck Mr Zardari and PPP!
That's why you were rewarded with the complete control over Sindh in 2013 elections. that was the deal. Thank you for honoring it.
Naturally you will support PML(N) because its 50-50 between you two.
Like we didnt know it before.Partners in crime, corruption in mismanagement. Shehla raza has already said that next is PPP's turn as per the international agrrement
So all the thugs, who in the name of democracy are running this country like a monarchy, have united. I didnt support the Azadi march earlier but after this is support it. This monarchy of PPP and PMLN needs to be demolished!
Democracy has numerous flaws but it's better than rule of dark forces and fake revolutionaries.
Of course you will.
