QUETTA: In a case of honour killing, a man named Yousaf shot dead his teenage sister and her male friend on Airport Road in Quetta, accusing them of having an illicit relationship.

Yousaf opened fire on his sister Zar Bibi, 19, and her friend Noor Mohammed, 29, when he found them in his house.

“It is an honour killing,” the police officer said, adding that Noor Mohammed was already married to another woman.

“The accused killed the couple after he found them in his house late on Monday night. The perpetrator managed to flee from the scene,” a police officer at the Airport Police Station told The Express Tribune.

The bodies were shifted to the Provincial Sandeman Hospital and will be handed over to their legal heirs for burial following medical formalities.

Words and terms matter. There is no such thing as an honor killing --- there is only murder. We need to erase this term from our vocabulary. This is absolute stupidity to allow this, condone this. Where are the bearded ones (the interpreters of the faith)? where is their outrage????
