PM approves appointment of new defence secretary
Lt-Gen(retd) Alam Khattak replaces Lt-Gen(retd) Asif Yasin Malik as new defence secretary
ISLAMABAD:
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif approved the appointment of incoming Defence Secretary Lt-Gen(retd) Alam Khattak on Monday, Express News reported.
The previous defence secretary, Asif Yasin Malik, had a two-year contract, which ended on July 28, after which a new defence secretary was appointed.
Khattak is expected to assume his responsibilities as the new defence secretary within a few days.
