BAHAWALPUR: Vintage cars taking part in the first-ever countrywide rally arrived in Bahawalpur on Sunday night, while on their way to Lahore. Karachi was the starting point of the rally.

The cars include 1929 Hupmobile, 1947 Lincoln Continental, 1954 Jaguar, 1954 Austin Healy, 1950 Chevrolet, 1958 MGA, 1960 MGA,1965 Ford Mustang, 1966 Ford Mustang and 1967 Daimler.

President of the Vintage and Classic Car Club (VCCC) of Pakistan Mohsin Ikram told the media that the rally of antique and old cars will end in Islamabad on November 11.

The purpose of the drive, according to Ikram, is to send out a message of peace, as well as spread the notion internationally that Pakistan is not a terrorist country but one that has lots of diverse and positive hobbies.

VCCCP was formed in 1986 by Ikram and Jim Agha to cater to those who shared their passion of collecting, restoring and driving vintage and classic cars.

The main objective of the club is “to help save and preserve motoring heritage in Pakistan and to be known as the club which helps various charitable organisations in 'fund raisers' across the country,” according to its official website.
